The Academy of Online Nail Design divides their online school for nail technicians into four components on DVD. You begin training with the first component, learning the role of a nail professional as well as anatomy, diseases and disorders of the skin and salon safety. During the following components, you learn basic manicure and pedicure services and then move onto learning artificial nail enhancements. After each component, you complete practice sheets and take online test.
The necessary products come included with the program, but you need to purchase towels, paper towels, a bowl for manicures, a pedicure tube, additional nail tips, files and buffers.
The academy makes additional supplies available for purchase on their website. As of 2010, the cost of the school is $995, which you can divide into four payments to be paid before beginning each module. The Academy of Online Nail Design designed their program to last four months.
